• Identity Data: Your South African ID number (required for IEC verification).
• Contact Data: Your name, phone number, and email address.
• Location Data: Your physical address or GPS coordinates (to determine your Ward and Municipality).
• Technical Data: IP address and browser telemetry (used for security verification via Cloudflare).

2. Purpose of Processing

We do not collect your data simply to store it. We process your information for the specific purposes of:

• Verification: Querying the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) database to confirm your registration status.
• Representation: Identifying your specific Ward Candidate and providing their contact details.
• Communication: Contacting you regarding your registration status, voting station changes, and relevant VF Plus campaign updates in your area.

3. Special Personal Information

By using this tool to locate a VF Plus candidate and submitting your details, you acknowledge that you may be revealing information regarding your political persuasion. We process this Special Personal Information under the specific provisions for political parties as outlined in POPIA, solely for the purpose of furthering the democratic process.

4. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We employ industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) for data transmission. Access to your personal information is restricted to authorized VF Plus personnel and appointed data processors.

5. Your Rights

Under South African law, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we update or correct your information.
• Objection/Opt-Out: Ask us to stop contacting you for campaign purposes at any time.
